Who: Pyra and YOU, also some various
Where: Around town
When: Around the entire month of december
What: open log, some closed prompts
Rating: nothing above PG so far

A: It's a Hat
[ For those who have met Pyra, they may probably recall that a golden headband set with a peculiar crystal usually sits atop her hair. Today that isn't the case. Instead, she appears to have swapped the accessory with something a little-- rather, a lot different: a hat. Not just any hat, but a flat-brimmed western, of which some may recognize belonging to another resident of the town.

It's too big for her head, and in accordance with the fickle weather of the city, a gust of wind blows the hat right off. ]
...Ah!

[ It's flying right at you, too. Catch it? Or, even if you don't, she will, sprinting and leaping past you to ensure that it does not touch the ground. This hat is important! Very important! She's not going to let it become damaged if she can help it. Whether you or she manages to save it from a fall, she breathes out a sigh of relief, smiling at you as she straightens up, tossing her hair. ] ...Thank goodness. That was a close one. [ Then, a polite bow. ] I'm sorry about that.

B: Wacky Weather
[ The weather is just... weird. And cold, very cold in this particular district, which may or may not be the most important district because it is the shopping district. But look at her, still dressed in the same outfit as ever! She's currently peering into one of the shops... There's a scarf. A very fluffy scarf on one of the mannequins that she's staring at.

Aaaaand since she's unnaturally warm and doesn't need it, she turns away from it only to spot..... you, at which point her eyes widen and she draws a quick breath, making her way over. Don't mind her, quickly reaching for both of your hands to take into hers, warming them with the unnatural heat of her touch. ]

Oh, no, you look almost frostbitten...

[ Guiding your hands up further, she brings them up to her mouth where she blows onto them gently, then rubbing her hands quickly over yours. ] Better?

C: Wildcard
[ yo hmu if u have any ideas for py here! she can be found lotsa places around the city, from the gardens to the zoo to looking at motorcycles/cars, to cafes. pm or pp [plurk.com profile] drinksteapots me for plotting, or surprise me here! ]

[Her voice pulled him away from his thoughts, but he didn't mind if people asked questions. He preferred those who wanted to learn.]

Yes.

[For a brief moment it didn't look as if he would say more as he turned his eyes back from her to the small hairs on the table.]

This creature is quite similar to those that exist on our world. Most everything seems in place, save for interior fluids that are unusual. Even these hairs appear to be as I would expect...

If this is simply a large version of an arachnid, it may be possible to use it for our purposes.

It was dark. Black. We have something similar on our world. A disease, of sorts. Perhaps it is naive to directly tie it to what I am familiar with simply out of physical similarities, but I can't help but wonder if they have been infected and their actions manipulated.

[He rested his hands on the table for a moment as he thought.]

Are you familiar with insects? While it is not my specialty, I do have some knowledge. There are some in nature that control others by manipulating theirs minds. They can force another insect to walk into their lair in order to be eaten, among other things. Given that the creature is simplistic in mind despite its size, that opens up the possibility of doing the same. Were we able to capture a living one, we might be able to insert a control device inside of it.

That's where the fact that they can survive outside truly benefits us. If we could control it remotely and place signal boosters in order to maintain control from a distance, we could potentially use one to scout the outside for us.

I cannot determine as of yet. But, while most of what I found was typical, it was not, so it bears further investigation.

[He at least had his gloves. They were pretty solid, given that it was what he used at home. However, not too much more. Besides things like vials and beakers that he'd invested in, he simply hadn't the fund for everything yet.]

I merely have my suspicions at this point. I have saved some for future study.

[He pushed himself up using the table, leaning over the creature and picking up a long, metal tool to reach inside and prod at it's brain tissue.]

For the time being, I'd like to design a tool that we would be able to stab into a living specimen in order to control it. It would have to hit it in just the right spot...

[The brain was not large or complex as a human's would be, but that didn't mean it would necessarily be easy. He'd have to take over it's motor functions while leaving it still alive and operable.]

...I do not have a living one to experiment on. But, perhaps with some stimulation to cause it to move, I could perform some testing on the other one.
