♥ August (Achtom) Event Log

August (Achtom) Event Log
As it is the last month of Diacht's reign, their priests have begun to tone down the decor of the city, removing any frivolity that had been damaged in last month's rain, for repair or replacement and storage until next season. The streets are a little more bare than they usually are, colour-wise, but hey, Ohnir is just around the corner.
❥ PROMPT I: Not Feeling Like Myself

The faces around Havenwell are ever-changing, but familiar--though some come and go with unpredictable irregularity, the offworld inhabitants both past and present are often seen and often remembered. And this month, they may be seen in unexpected places, such as one's own mirror.
On occasion as the days wear on, offworlders of Havenwell might suddenly find themselves physically someone else, whether a current inhabitant of the city or an individual from their home worlds. While those with powers will find them unchanged, some may have trouble with their situations in a physical sense; good luck to the temporarily short trying to reach the top shelf, or the suddenly tall forgetting to duck under low doorways. To say nothing of the general weirdness one has to deal with upon finding themselves as someone else entirely.

❥ PROMPT II: Aqua Arsenal

Boy, that summer heat. Amiright? Even the robotic natives seem to be commenting on it once in awhile and are preferring to stay inside where it’s cool enough for anyone.
When the strange heat starts up, there is a package or two (or three or five??) delivered to your home by a harried looking native in a postal uniform. There’s no need to sign for it and they leave immediately after you accept the package. Lots more to deliver, after all!
Opening the package, you’ll find a Superb Douser water gun. Regardless of the size of your Superb Douser, which is the perfect size for you to hold comfortably, every single one holds half a gallon of water. That way no one is left at a disadvantage. And, thanks to God Magic™, the weight of the Superb Dousers is also comfortable for everyone, no matter their size.
Now, what are these for, you may ask?
Glad you asked!
With the weather so hot, it’s the best way to cool down and refresh yourself. It’s also the quickest, especially with this unnatural heat.
That’s not all though.
Whoopsie, looks like the water doesn’t just cool you down.
♥ Rainbow Brite! The color of the water that just hit you? Enjoy being that color for a little while. Neon pink? Forest green? Sky Blue? Anything goes! But that color might just drain that color from you/your clothes as well. Don't worry, it's only an hour or so.
♥ Transformation! You are now a Lakemin or a Cuddle Cub! And with this transformation, you feel an urge to hug the stuffing out of people! (Please don't actually hug the stuffing out of them, that may be a bit illegal.) Hug [X] amount of people to change back.
♥ Cartoon Musical! For the next hour, any inanimate object you touch, will come to life and sing ala Beauty and the Beast style. They may even urge you to sing along with them. Hopefully they have a good singing voice...

❥ PROMPT III: Culture Club

On the initiative of one of Havenwell's own offworlders, Era (
astralera), the arena has been reserved for a two-day culture festival from the 13th to the 14th! Offworld inhabitants of Havenwell are invited to share stories, crafts, display their skills, or whatever else they wish to share with their native neighbors in a show of goodwill and friendship. Anything is welcome, with no addition too small so long as there's heart behind it.
If your character is interested in contributing in some way, please make a note of said contribution in the General Plotting thread; that way everyone can see what's going to be around and maybe even offer an extra pair of hands for more ambitious projects! (For more information on the intent of the festival, please see Era's interest check.)

Watermelon Delivery
He answers the door with a warm smile. And a knife in his belt. But that's probably fine.]
Ah! Hola, Kaito. Looks like the delivery business really is keeping you busy.
no subject
Hey. [He grinned a bit.] Keeps me from getting bored. You settling in ok?
[Okay enough to find a knife to keep on his person. That's probably fine. While noticed, it didn't phase Kai. What else were you going to bust some melons open with?]
no subject
Well enough, I think. Everyone's been really kind here. But, it's still quite a change.
[It'll be a while before this place feels like home. But, with what they made a home out of before, he doesn't think it'll take forever.]
Here. Let me take one of those off of you. And, I guess could show you inside? Nothing to see yet, really, but I could get you some water before you go off delivering again. Or a coffee, if you're that kind of guy.
no subject
Oh, sure. I'll take a coffee, thanks. [He grinned a bit more.] And don't sweat it, the only reason my house has anything interesting in it s'cuz of my roommates.
no subject
[He leads Kaito inside, holding the door with his foot and then letting it go once he's in. Off to the kitchen! It's about as plain as the unoccupied ones are.]
The same thing for us, but we haven't been around long enough to accumulate the piles of junk we had. Once we can get more books, that'll change, I'm sure.
[And down on the counter the melon goes.]
How do you take your coffee? I personally like mine black but Nekane usually has enough sugar to kill several men. [Not an exaggeration.]
no subject
Ha, well I won't take much of that stash. I just take two in mine. You want me to stash this guy anywhere specific for you?
[Patpat on the melon.]
no subject
Table or counter's fine. I can decide what I'm going to do later.
[In the meantime, he'll just work on making those coffees. It feels right to make two regardless but for once both mugs can contain something normal.]
Here you are. Take a seat wherever.
no subject
Gotcha.
[Taking a seat, huh. Being invited into someone's home, huh. Luckily the obvious answer was to just pull up one of the kitchen chairs, so Kai didn't have to puzzle over things too much.]
Thanks.
no subject
Watermelon friend for the watermelon friend. He settles in a chair himself, a little ways away, hands curling around the mug to feel the warmth. There's a beat of silence. Then, he laughs sheepishly.]
Sorry. This is probably weird. I just impulsively invited you in.
It's just, when I lived in the land of the dead, people would come and go wherever and whenever in shantytown. And in the other place, I could go to everyone else. But, it's just Nekane and I here, and, well, I guess I sort of miss the bustle a little. Of... not robotic people, that is.
no subject
Woulda just called you a people person, to be honest. A friendly neighbor? Somethin' like that.
It´d be weirder for me not to accept it, probably.
no subject
No, you have your job. You could easily say you're busy. Unless you were the slacker type but you don't seem to be.
[Friendly neighbor. He supposes that's nicer than "weird old man" or "annoying pest" or "probably creepy sinner". He hopes never the last one, he prefers being a pest.]
