♥ July 2019 Intro Mingle

Welcome sign
July Intro Log

Welcome to Havenwell! The walled city and its robotic inhabitants welcome all of the offworlders to Aellyn. New arrivals are given their tablets and showed to open housing, given tours around the city, and generally helped with settling into their new world. Some robots are more curious than others, more helpful than others, but overall the atmosphere of the city is one of hope and celebration. It is, however, a city that needs some help, and as newcomers wander, they may find that they can do a lot to aid Havenwell in its recovery.

PROMPT I: Temple Jobs
The priests of each temple have a digital bulletin board in front of their temple doors that lists several tasks that each temple is asking of natives and newcomers alike. Havenwell is protected from the worst of the damage outside the walls, but it's still an ancient city and there's always something that needs to be done. Of course, the priests won't ask you to do these things for free, so anyone who wants to join up and complete a task will receive a reward of Dora sent to their bank accounts.

The sudden weather changes sometimes results in localized floods, so businesses and homes are always looking for help cleaning debris and mopping floors. The temples themselves always need a little extra help picking up after the temple animals or cleaning the altars. Some stores need help transporting goods across the city - normally a two person job, pulling carts and wagons. And lately, temples have been asking for help in cleaning up the city square for a "big *wink wink* project" coming soon. The priests won't say more than that, but they will offer payment for anyone willing to keep the square clean. Which may be a little difficult with the influx of new people, maps, and general trash and broken debris everywhere. It may be smart to team up to keep things clean!

PROMPT II: Repli-fails
One thing that new residents might find that needs some help are the food replicators found in each home. They've been unused for so long that issues and trouble were inevitable. People who can fix them are few and far between, however, so until an antiques' maintenance-minded robotic denizen stops by, characters may have to suffer through some glitches. When characters ask for potatoes, they might find blue-flavored toothpaste getting dispensed instead. Or if they ask for 1 carrot, they get 20 hot pink ones instead. Or asking for a drink becomes a never-ending stream of said drink. Or they might not dispense anything that looks like food at all and instead inundate you with vaguely fish-shaped wooden blocks. Good luck, newbies. Even the natives are a little baffled by this one.

Rainbow colored chickens

PROMPT III: Virtual? Reality?
The VR simulation of the month, Petting Zoo, seems to still be pretty popular. Natives are plugging in to pet animals in record numbers and it's encouraged the proprietors of the VR parlors to keep the game a little longer than normal. New arrivals are encouraged to take the VR headsets for a spin to help proprietors gauge how to better adjust them for non-robotic clientele. That said, they'll still ask characters to pay for the experience, just not at a slightly discounted rate if they answer a survey afterwards. Characters will notice that holding hands with someone else during their VR experience significantly improves the quality of the visuals and audio input.

Unfortunately, as with most things in Havenwell, the VR experience doesn't always go as planned. On occasion in the city, glitches happen while residents are plugged in and suddenly that flock of giant pink sheep they were petting? Yeah, they're now manifested in the real world. In and around the entertainment districts, illogically colored sheep, giant house cats, miniature ponies, and - of course - the dreaded aggro rainbow chickens suddenly start appearing in packs. Their images glitch in and out, fuzzing into static in places, but they're very real and very confused about not being in their happy green pastures. Which means they panic, of course, and start running amok. Help the citizens corral these strange beasts until the glitch ends, run away from the now very real flocks of rainbow chickens that want to dogpile you, or simply stand by and watch the chaos occur. It's up to you how you want to help!

PROMPT IV: The Ribbon Games
A couple weeks after everyone has arrived and had time to mostly settle into the weird weather patterns and machinery muck-ups, a notice is plastered across the network:
The citizens of Havenwell wish you well, offworlders! To show our appreciation for your assistance in saving our world, we cordially invite you to participate in an ancient tradition: The Ribbon Games! In the old days, this festival was held as a celebration of joyous events. You have a week to collect as many ribbons as you can from your temple by completing their Ribbon Task. Then, at the end of the week, we are hosting a party in your honor where you can compete to collect ribbons from the other temples to win fabulous prizes! Please visit your deity's temple to find out more and we hope you will join us for the Ribbon Games Party at the end of the week.

With all our gratitude,
The Citizens of Havenwell
Those who choose to participate and head to their deity's temple will find a priest with a sash and a box of ribbons in the colors of your chosen deity. They point to a digital board at their side that lists the task you'll need to complete in order to earn one of these ribbons, and will allow characters to complete a ribbon challenge once a day until the week is over for a total of 7 ribbons if they come each day. You may only earn the ribbon of your assigned deity, so if you are an adherent of Rawna and go to Ainea's temple, even if you complete Ainea's task, you cannot receive her ribbon. The tasks are:
  • Rawna: Give comfort to someone or ease someone's pain within Rawna's temple to receive a shimmering silver ribbon.
  • Ainea: Do an act of kindness or show compassion to someone within Ainea's temple to receive a soft pink and purple ribbon.
  • Diacht: Reveal an honest truth about yourself within Diacht's temple to receive a bold red and white ribbon.
  • Ohma: Learn something new about or from someone within Ohma's temple to receive a delicate blue and gold ribbon.

Once a task is completed, the priest will remove a ribbon from their box and affix it to your clothing. Don't let anyone steal your ribbons! Good luck keeping them safe, offworlders.

Outdoor party space with hanging lights and flowers

PROMPT V: The Fanciest of Welcome Parties
At the end of the month, once the city square is clean and the ribbons have been distributed to participating citizens, the newest residents of Havenwell will wake to the sound of music floating over the city. During the night while people slept, the natives decorated the city with streamers, brightly colored lanterns, and strings of beautiful lights that glow no matter the hour of the day. The natives have decorated themselves, too, and provide the offworlders with clothing and decorations to match. Garishly colored sashes, brilliantly (artificially) plumed hats, skirts and tunics, boas and fake flower leis - just about anything you can imagine, they're wearing. In and around the city square there are long tables of oddly colored finger foods - orange-colored grapes, bright pink meats, blue cheeses and the like are provided along with golden chocolates, fuchsia frosted cupcakes with pink cake underneath, and minty green cookies. The foods might look strange, but at least they mostly taste like they're supposed to. The citizens are trying, they promise.

All around the fountain depicting the four gods in the center of the square, pre-recorded music is playing and the natives are dancing in pairs, groups, and lines. Join them for a dance and they'll happily teach you the local customs, or break out your own moves and share your world's best moves to earn some applause and awkward attempts at recreating them.

The big game of the night is shared by the natives and it's announced halfway through the party. The culmination of the Ribbon Games is a contest to try and collect a set of four ribbons - one from each different god's temple. The rules are simple:
  1. Attach your ribbons to yourself in a clearly visible location.
  2. Tag and hold someone else for more than 1 minute. You can bear hug them, hold their hands, link arms, anything!
  3. After sustaining contact, you can take one of their ribbons. If you aren't the character who initiated contact, you can't take a ribbon.
  4. Gather one of each god's ribbon in order to win a prize!

If you successfully manage to get all four ribbons, a little shower of confetti will burst from your ribbons and a nice little chunk of Dora will be transferred to your account. This can only work once unfortunately, but it's a nice little bonus for your first month in Havenwell! The party continues late into the night and the natives are happy to keep the party going as long as any of the offworlders wish to keep dancing.

As a reminder, please post your character to the Taken Character list and your own information to the Player Contact list as soon as possible. It helps us keep track of our player cap!

If you have any other questions, please ask them in the QUESTION thread below. Feel free to use the CR/Intro Meme to do OOC plotting. Otherwise, welcome to Hugtopia's first mingle log!

( i. temple job )

[ reyson has never held a job before. has never needed to. tibarn has always seen to his needs and he had still lived like a prince, even without a kingdom. but he was rarely spoiled about it. now that circumstances had changed, reyson decided it wasn't a bad idea to find a way to earn income. so he took on a transport job. it's easy enough to travel across the land as a heron.

if you are near, you'd see a large heron (almost the size of a person) land nearby with supplies in his beak before transforming back to a person with large white wings. he hasn't noticed you yet. ]

There. An easy job to accomplish.

( ii. repli-fail )

[ reyson isn't too familiar with technology. or any kind of technology. tellius wasn't rife with machines and scientists, relying more on magics and magecraft. robots are beyond him. when he asked for a nutritional meal full of vegetables and spices, it gave him a meal full of . . . meat. tasty, crisp . . . and completely unhelpful to reyson. as much as he wished it was. reyson sighs, holding it out for anyone nearby. ]

Do you want this? I can't have it.

( iii. the fanciest of welcome parties. )

[ a bold red and white ribbon wrapped around his arm, reyson drifts through the party. he feels rather lonely, in a way he cannot put words to. while he was in ike's army and most of them were beorc, he is unused to an environment that seemed only human and little else. he's not sure he's in the mood to win this little competition or even participate. wings fluttering, reyson finds himself a seat as he watches people thread in and out without care, slightly melancholic. ]

Do the Diacht priests have any way of knowing whether the character is actually telling the truth or not, or will they take it on the honor system? If the latter, will anything happen to someone who just tells seven lies in the temple to get the ribbons?

I too am sorry he's like this, Diacht

Temple Jobs
Hey, why do you think these things don't have their own motors?

[It had seemed impolite to ask the residents assigning them the task, but Will can't help but be curious--this whole city is so sleek and high-tech, it seems strange to rely on manual labor to transport goods. Holding one of the paired harnesses attached to the wagon, though, clearly designed for a human or human-shaped-robot..... well, he can't help but ask. They may as well make conversation, since they'll be walking across town together, right?

Ah--but something else about this design catches his eye. Those are some very awkwardly placed buckles, for people whose joints can't rotate as freely as a robot's.]

Looks like we'll have to get each other's gear.

Repli-fails (Common housing has four bedrooms in it, so this one is probably limited to three takers. Who wants to live together~?)
.....Oh, I get it.

[Will giggles helplessly at the beautifully-grilled T-bone steak balancing precariously on top of his mug. He'd just wanted a cup of tea, but this--this is funny, he has to admit it.

Grinning to himself, he pokes his head out of the kitchen to address his housemate.]

The food machine is making puns now. Do you think it's gaining sentience?

Petting Zoo
[Now, this? This is completely Will's wheelhouse. He's keen to try the virtual reality out as soon as he can, even if it does mean surrendering a bit of his hard-earned Dora. The visuals are a little blurry at the edges, a bit pixelated in a way that unavoidably reminds him that none of this is real, and a fair few of the sounds have an unnatural, electronic buzzing undertone to them--

--but even so, he's all but radiating excitement, clapping his hands in delight as he looks around. Look at all these cool creatures! Are they all just made up, or are any of them actually real? Some of them look familiar, some like nothing he's ever seen, but some others are decidedly off from what they should be.....

Like what's obviously rainbow-colored Mareep, save for the glaring lack of lights of any sort. He's a little confused about that.]

Where are their tails, though?

Petting Zoo 2: Electric Boogaloo
[Oh dear. These poor things! None of them belong out here in the real world at all, and it's obvious they're not happy about it. Who would be, when removed from the only home they've ever known? Wait. Isn't that technically all of them? The least he can do is put his Pokémon handling skills to good use.

Anyone nearby might be able to feel Will radiating waves of gentle calm, movements slow and deliberate as he confidently approaches a bristling cat tall enough to look him dead in the eye, voice soft and soothing as he murmurs to it.]

Shhhh..... it's okay. You're okay. This is a safe place.

The Fanciest of Welcome Parties
[Oh, how fun! Is this what they've been keeping the square clean for? He's impressed! And a little touched, too. The citizens really have gone all out on this, trying to make them feel welcome.

He's not about to let their hospitality go to waste! Will flits all about the party like the social Butterfree he is, sampling food and drinks, chatting with people, and mingling. He's even dressed for the occasion in the most festive outfit he can borrow, all bright colors, swirling fabrics, fancy plumed hats, and fluttering sashes. If anything about his outfit stands out, it might be the lack of color and flourish in his plain black mask.

Maybe he's playing the ribbon game, or maybe he's just noticed you look lost, lonely, shy, or otherwise unhappy--but either way, you may find Will emerging from the throng of robots, reaching out with a silk-gloved hand to catch yours.]

Come dance with me!

Wildcard
[You know the drill, hit me with anything you want! Will is remarkably unphased by being in a new world, and will be all over the place, participating in everything he can, from temple jobs to the Ribbon Games task and finale. Feel free to write in him approaching your character for some reason, if it makes set up easier!]

(1) A Good Samaritan

Keeping busy has become a bit of a default mode for Ib, the painting world had made it hard to rest or stay in one place for too long because Garry was always afraid if they stayed put for a long time they would get found by a lot of bad things. Or were already being chased by something. So the few days between first arriving and now were, odd, to say the least.

Though you wouldn't really be able to tell, from her happily helping to pick up trash around the city square to doing her best to mop up flood water, and just generally being a small helper to all in need. No, much like in the painting world, so far her keeping arms length away from walls in hallways, and sleeping lightly and hidden in a closet or small room is not shown at all in her actions or emotions.

In fact, for the most part, she's just a child happily helping and cheerfully talking to anyone that greets her with a bright red rose tucked behind one ear so she can use both hands freely in her assigned task.

(2) Temple Games: Ainea Edition

Some of the words used by the Priests and the board had confused Ib in what exactly she was supposed to do, but then she watched others before realizing she just had to be nice and help someone and now it made much more sense. Considering she was already doing such when she helped with the board before Ib starts to spend more time looking at the art, once she realized it wouldn't come alive, and moving through pink and purple hues from the stained glass as the light moves. Making a bit of a game in going from one to another as she watches people visit the temple.

(3) Ribbon Chasing

While Ib had gotten a few ribbons she wasn't exactly wanting to play to win the game, and seems more interested in letting others take ribbons from her. Though, especially at first, she sometimes won ribbons instead of losing ribbons by forgetting she isn't the one to initiate the contact.

Only once she is out of ribbons does she wander looking at the decorations and lights in fascination and only looking oddly at the food for a brief moment, her mind just easily accepting this as just how things are. Her meandering winding around until she ends up sitting tiredly on the rim of the fountain in order to watch those still dancing.

(4) House Ghost

Being a child should have caused her more troubles in regards to her being alone, but after her time with Garry in the paintings, Ib manages to keep herself alive relatively well despite the lack of a parental figure. She remembers to get things like a hairbrush and soap, and keep them in a little blue bag; after she had been given a basic idea on how money actually works, and even tries to eat meals her mother would approve of.

This doesn't erase the fact she's a nine year old child without parental influence, a nine year old child who recently came out of a situation of survival. A situation that while she does not fully understand intellectually, still left an impression in her habits and thought process. Leading her to move quietly from one empty house to another every so often and to move around with caution and as silently as possible in said houses. Sometimes the house may not be as empty as she thought it was, and usually she vacates as quickly and silently as she can from said occupied houses in an effort to not be rude for never asking to share said house.

All of this may possibly be causing a slight rumor of a ghost here and there in the free housing district, or someone finding something a bit off in regards to how many people they think live in a house for a day or two before the signs disappear. Maybe someone will finally realize what's going on.

( I: what is this, cinderelfa? )

[Lup isn't a huge fan of cleaning - least of all for a mess she didn't make in the first place - but she does love showing off, and the people here just love magic, evidently. Or maybe they just love all things new and different. Either way, it's profitable, and cantrips make for easy casting.

She can either be found parked in a district corner offering her services like a pop-up shop, or wandering around the town finding broken bits or tools lying around, and so long as the break isn't too substantial - a snapped handle here, a bent post there, a piece of clothing ripped apart by the wind - she's able to press her hands around it and mend the break with a murmur and a burst of arcane energy. Almost like new! Pleased with her work, she happily accepts payment for it before moving on to the next recipient of her spell. Which might just be... you! You there! C'mere.

She may be stuck in a weird new place, but that's just par for the course by now. And as usual, the first priority is to establish herself and make some money.]

( II: one man's fail is another woman's dinner )

[The nice thing about being almost-immortal is that you give so few shits about taking chances with your life. Or unlife. Whatever. So when word gets around that not only are there food replicators here (with real food this time! no gooey fake gel!), but that they're spitting out weird items that may or may not be food? Lup goes to check it out, because to her, that's a challenge begging to be accepted. And she's here for it.

Lup is sauntering around the housing district, carting a box under her arm. Folks leaving their homes might just bump into her, and she isn't shy in the slightest.]

Hey there, neighbour. Got yourself any neon food lately?

( IV: ribbon-schmibbon )

[So of course she goes to check out the temples. Gods are sort of a mixed bag for her, and while she has no worship to spare for them, there's no shame in respecting their power. She's quickly prodded towards her own temple, and since there are no rewards to be found elsewhere, she figures it might be worth playing along with whatever's going on here... for now. After giving Diacht's temple a quick tour, her eyes scan over the digital board outlining the deity's task, "reveal an honest truth about yourself"-

And she barely gets halfway through the request before loudly pronouncing,]

Fuuuuuuuuuck that.

[Oh, did she say that out loud? Hopefully there were no children around.]

( V: welcome and prepare to be tricked )

[A dancing game? For the ribbons? To get money? Hell yeah she's in. Lup is kicking it up on the dance floor, solo or otherwise- and she will accept any and all partners. Maybe even unwilling ones, if she finds you looking a little too forelorn on the sidelines. Be prepared, though, because she's absolutely here to steal your ribbons.

What's weird is that her ribbons... well, they sure look like they're there. But to the discerning eye, they don't quite flutter the way they should when she moves.]

( wildcard: anything before and in-between )

[if anyone wants to a) use a prompt from the TDM, b) continue from the TDM, or c) create and roll with a new prompt, ping me! Especially CRAU c: we have things to discuss...

also: am fine with TDM threads being considered canon.]

0: Augh - Persona 5 spoilers in this one

[ So, awakening in a new world hadn't been what he could have expected after... everything.

Awakening while still wearing this, but with the damage they'd had during those final moments? Even less expected. There's a frustrated hiss before he takes a slow breath and sends the respective Persona away, leaving him in clothing that he's able to at least relax a little more in. Although...

... where the hell is his case? All he has on him is--

--Heh . . . fucking wonderful. He hates this world already. ]

I: Temple Jobs

[ ... Eh, it could be way worse.

Akechi offers a pleasant smile and a nod when he's asked to help, even if there is lingering frustration at the situation itself. And other things. That's how he can be found setting his coat aside, rolling up his sleeves, pocketing his gloves, and getting right to it. Nobody here, sans one, will know him as that detective prince he presented himself as, so... admittedly? That's made it far easier to just relax a tiny bit.

Just a fraction, maybe.

... Never mind; feel free to have yours catching him, grumbling over some dirt getting spill all in his hair and on his face. He's hurriedly trying to clean that up before anyone else has a chance to witness this growing DISASTER. ]

II: Repli-fails

[ He just wanted some fucking coffee, wow.

Why does all the coffee here (that isn't made by Akira) suck so much??

Anyway, Akechi is tired; he foolishly assumed the drink would stop on time. That's why he's left letting out a startled sound as the hot contents spill all over his hand - OW???? - and wrist. Which... is to say it's very primarily a startled cry and not one of pain. He isn't even taking a moment to see about said hand, honestly, because the priority should clearly rest in trying to stop the mess from growing.

Yeah.

... Someone, please... make this idiot... stop... ]

IV: Lol, Why?

[ Akechi stares at that list.

Give comfort to someone or ease someone's pain within Rawna's temple? Sigh.
Do an act of kindness or show compassion to someone within Ainea's temple? He... doesn't really feel like it.
Reveal an honest truth about yourself within Diacht's temple? Heh.
Learn something new about or from someone within Ohma's temple? ... You know what? Let's just... do this one.

He can gradually be found hanging out within all temples, except Diacht's! Feel free to have yours chatting as though he's in yours' temple or yours is in his. ]

1; ERRAND BOY
Well. Kai was still here. There had been several mornings where he expected to wake back up as a sprawled mess in his cell, with this whole scenario some really weird fever dream. Yet each day started with him in his strange new bed in this strange new place where no one knew him and there was nothing he could do for friends left behind.

That was kind of ironic. He wasn't sure if he was upset or... relieved...? About the circumstances.

Keeping busy was how he knew how to deal with anything. Earning money was his priority if he wanted to do anything, so these bulletin boards were what he started to make a habit of checking in the morning.

Need help pulling that cart? There he be. Maybe you spotted him at that storefront, sweeping away with a really intense look on his face.

But his favorite task so far was looking after the dragons in Rawna's temple. While cleaning up sacred dragon poop was... well, cleaning up shit, watching them slither around and scale the walls was almost soothing. It wouldn't be that uncommon to pass him while he made respectful attempts at offering an inquisitive one some strips of meat.

((At least, they all hoped it was meat. Maybe he was hoping they'd tell him if the repliator worked or not.))

2; CAWFEE
Look.

He'd just. He'd just wanted some coffee. That seemed like an easy task. Maybe there were a lot of nuances to it, but it had seemed simple enough at the time.

And yet.

Kaito stood there, watching the carnage unfold before his eyes. There was really nothing else to do about it. It had been doing it for what felt like ages now. He'd even walked away at one point, but each time he came back it was the same thing.

Sometimes it was just a loose spray of coffee grounds in varying grinds. Powdery grind here, huge chunks there. Sometimes it was a slow, gritty drip of sludge that plopped heavily on to whatever surface it could get. Sometimes it was just a billow of steam. Every once in a while it was actually liquid, but like.

Neon colored.

G r e a t.

3; aaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

"Hey!" Someone was shouting at you!

"HEY!" Oh, it was Kaito. Kaito was shouting at you!

"WATCH OUT!" He was shouting and pointing and--

The largest, roundest, puffiest looking gangster struttin' chicken was rocketing on a collission course to one lucky person's face.

4; RIBBON TASKER
This new task on the bulletin board... didn't really catch Kaito's attention. He didn't particularly care about this kind of game? Or Parties?? So he didn't think anything of this ribbon game thing, content to just keep at it with all the chores he'd been doing already.

But he was there, and he usually took note of who else was there with him. It wasn't always easy to tell if something was bothering someone, but there was usually a certain kind of lonesome that came with the territory.

Kai wasn't great at socializing, but he was even worse at letting people face things alone. So he'd walk over, broom in hand.

"Hey."

5; RIBBON DANCER
No leave him alone he doesn't want to be here. The only reason he's here is because the priests shooed him out of the temple so now he's just aggressively snacking on this purple orange.

Is that a shiny sparkly silver ribbon shining spectacularly there on his person? It sure might be. There might even be more than one.

Silver was the rarest color, you know.

Mu | Saint Seiya | Ainea | OTA

[personal profile] aries_saint 2019-07-13 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
I) Temple Jobs / Keeping it clean
[Mu usually wakes up early in the morning or later in the afternoon and can be seen around the temple of Ainea, cleaning and washing the altars, sweeping the floor, mopping the floors to keep it dry, and caring for the animals around the temple premises. Keeping himself busy and working helps keep his mind clear and focused.

He does so without complaint and whenever he could, and it helps to receive a payment when he completed his tasks. For the most part, he simply wanted to help clean if it helps others feel comfortable, both for the locals and people from other worlds alike, and to keep busy.

He can be seen around the city, doing tasks for the locals such as pulling carts and wagons to help out the locals and transporting their wares, doing assignments that is posted on the bulletin board. Whatever keeps him busy. He may say hello or a wave to anyone as he passes by.]

III) Virtual Reality? / Corraling animals on the loose!
[Mu is not used to play video games. Back home, he's lives an ascetic monk lifestyle, living in the wild in the rural mountains where technology such as video games or even television or owning a phone isn't a habit. So this VR gaming is a new experience for him entirely.

With the help of a robot clerk for assistance, they helped him put the headset on to secure around his head. Anyway, this game, this petting zoo after a while suffered a glitch, and the animals he was playing with? They somehow manifested in the real world.

The animals are quite real, strangely colored that they are from the rainbow chickens to the pink sheep and very confused, running in panic. Mu spends for hours, helping the robot employees to corral them in pens with green pastures to keep them safe until the glitch is over.]

IV) The Ribbon Games / To be kind
[The ribbon games? Well, if it's a tradition for the locals, then Mu is willing to give a try and participate with the others. Being a follower of Ainea, her task is simple. Do an act of compassion or kindness to someone. For Mu, that simply means to attend to someone in need, even if means small chat or counseling, tending to the sick or injured, and helping another doing temple tasks. He sincerely hopes that helps, but doesn't think much about earning ribbons as he acting on kindness is a part of his nature.]

V) Welcome party / show me how to dance
[Mu doesn't do well with parties or dancing. The food, music, and fashion it is still all too strange and could get some time getting used to. He didn't collect a lot of ribbons either, but being humble he did collect a few by a handful.

He clumsily dances, participating in a waltz and circles with one of the robotic natives in a strange dance, clearly embarrassed as it was awkward for a man who is used to living like a monk. As he danced away, having that he tried, he chatted with the robots and learn of their customs in the meanwhile. Though it would be nice to dance with a real person perhaps, no matter how nice and kind the robots are.]

VI) Wildcard
[Make up your own starter based on the events! If CR with him interests you or you want to plot, discuss and hmu here! Mu is introverted and shy, but he will happily assist anyone or make small talk or team up to complete a task.]

Akechi--

[Hi, Akechi, housemate's kind of tugging your hand away from the replicator right about now. THEY CAN DEAL WITH THE MESS IN A BIT, IT'S FINE--]

Hey, is your hand alright?

Temple Jobs
[Akira, for one, has never been afraid of a little hard work. He's taking on any number of jobs that are offered, so it won't be an uncommon sight to spot Akira with his sleeves rolled up and doing some cleaning up somewhere.

Of course, if he spots anyone who looks like they could use a hand (especially in the square, dang), he'll approach with a hand held up.]

Want some help there?

Repli-Fails...
[... You know what, he's not really sure what he expected when it came to glitches. He'd asked for a bowl of rice (the 'synthetic' part made him sigh a bit but he really couldn't complain that much)... only to end up with a bowl of ice. Great.]

Well, I guess this'll be fine to keep a few drinks cold or something... Jeez...

Ribbon Games
[Hanging around Ohma's temple is actually not so bad. Akira certainly approves of the aesthetic, at least. Anyone else hanging around might get a friendly wave.]

Hey, do you have a bit?

Welcome Party
[Now this is something Akira can really get behind. Sure, Akira's more inclined to hang out by the food, but he can be found dancing, either trying out the local customs or being a showoff.

Of course, he'll be participating in that contest to collect ribbons. A prize sounds interesting enough that he's inclined to try it out.]

[Have another idea? Let me know and we can do that! If you want to talk it over, you can PM this journal or message me on plurk at [plurk.com profile] twistingkage.
Also, as a heads up, if you're interested in keeping a TDM thread with Akira as game canon, I'm okay with that!]

[ His eyes widen a little as he's tugged away, and his expression softens the tiniest bit before he looks to the side.

Embarrassment colors his cheeks as he nods. ]

I'll be fine - it's far from the worst I've deal with. [ hint of wryness to his smirk ] We should at least find something to capture the liquid, for now.

Still... Let me have a look at it?

[... You know what, he has that bowl from earlier that ended up used for the ice, he'll go grab that and dump the ice.]

This should do for now... We can figure something else out in a bit.

III. Chicken Run

[Uh oh, what is that sound? With the way things are going with this VR, this may not even be the first time you've heard the oncoming approach of an angry chicken stampede. The telltale bok-bok-bok coming ever closer, the rustle of horrible feathers in the distance! They're coming right at you! Run!

Weirdly, it looks like they must be chasing something in your direction, but there's nothing visible—at first. But suddenly, mere feet away, some round floating alien thing just pops out of thin air and barrels right into you. He was obviously fleeing the chickens, and now you're caught up in whatever horrible mistake he made to cause this.

He clings to your shirt, o unlucky one:]

Well, don't just stand there!

IV. Ribbon Gaming the System

[Or not, as the case may be.

The allure of competition with fabulous prizes is too powerful for Magolor. Of course he's going to participate in this game! And so on Day 1, off he goes to visit Diacht's temple for the first time for some easy-peasy participation points to cash in on later.

Or so he thinks. Whatever happens inside the temple doesn't take very long, and here he comes floating out the door with a cheerful smile on his face and a spring in his figurative step, not to mention a bright ribbon clutched in his hands—but he's only a few steps out the door when the ribbon just dissolves like nothing. Like sand between his palms. A step or two later he notices, looking down at his gloves with an open, shocked expression.]

Oh, you're—kidding . . . tch.

[He's too surprised to even notice yet if anyone just witnessed that.]

V. Hold Me Closer, Tiny Dancer

[It says a lot about how the past couple of weeks have gone that Magolor is actually relieved that the moneymaker at this party is so comparatively easy. No more physical labor! No more chickens! No more . . . saying honest things about himself! Just good old-fashioned awkward physical contact with strangers! He can do that!

Somehow, he managed to get out of the temple week with seven Diacht ribbons, and it was probably traumatizing to him, so don't ask. But there they are proudly affixed to his cape, just ready for you to snag one of if you're among the willing. He's utterly shameless about approaching people at the party, getting in faces, reaching for hands:]

Hellooooo! Don't tell me you're a wallflower. Let's do a little exchange, hmm? These people went to all this trouble for us, the least we can do is show them some action!

[He giggles innocently. You just want to hug him, don't you?

Or you could approach him first, he is definitely open for that.]

[ ... The last time he lived with other people, it wasn't exactly the best time of his life. So, he can't help feeling a bit wary towards this.

Akechi's been hanging out in his bedroom for a decent portion of the day, but he comes out in time to witness the machine's apparent brand of humor. And, there are a couple of blinks after he comes in to see it. ]

What were you trying to get?
betheirwayfinder: (you know I'll follow)

Aqua | Kingdom Hearts (Ainea represeeeeeeeeeeeent)

[personal profile] betheirwayfinder 2019-07-13 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
[temple job]

[Aqua is more than happy to help with cleaning up the temples. After spend ten years wandering and then sitting on a beach? She practically leaps at the chance to really move and do something, anything. Even if it is basically chores. Maybe, once upon a time, she'd have found excuses not to do chores.

Back when she and Terra were young, Eraqus' only pupils.

Now? It's almost odd how she puts dedication into sweeping every bit of the floors in Ainea's temple. At least, in the area they asked her to work at. And when that's done? She's already getting a bucket of hot, soapy, water to mop up anything left over. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well, right?]

[some call repli-catering]

[She'd settled easily enough. Traveling the worlds made it easy to just settle somewhere for a little wherever. This was a little more permanent but certainly better than the Realm of Darkness. At least this came with comfort.

Her new 'home' was kind of plain, but that could be fixed. First things first though: she hasn't had anything to eat, or needed to eat, in over ten years. And what was first? Ice cream. Something comforting. So she went over to the replicator and...

Well, this was odd. Back in the Land of Departure, or Disney Town, she actually made food and ice cream. She never visited a world with a replicator. Doesn't hurt to try though!]

What is this?

[Until it spits out a bowl of- a bowl made of ice. Filled with cream. She tries again, asking for raspberry ice cream with the same results, only this time there are raspberries floating in the cream.

Okay. She'll go out and find somewhere to eat.]

Is anyone else having trouble with their replicators..?

[ribbons!!]

[And act of kindness or showing compassion in Ainea's temple? For Aqua, that wouldn't be too much of a task. Certainly not a difficult one. Even Terra and Ven would have no trouble, even if Terra might seem intimidating for his height and strength. Eraqus had raised and taught them to be kind, always, and to help people. While protecting the world order, of course.

And the temple already seems like a decent enough place to spend her time anyway. She hopes it's a good place to gather information. Or it's a good place to meet new people, definitely those affiliated with the same god, at least.]

Good morning!

[party time~]

[Aqua's never been one for parties. If anyone was, it would have been Ven, she and Terra would have, almost certainly, been wallflowers. She's been so starved for companionship for so long enough, enough that Darkness had been able to get through the little cracks that a decade had left.

So she's laughing and letting the locals add to her clothing and learning how their dances go. And then she'll find someone to try the dances with her with a simple:]
Wanna try?

[Her Ainea ribbons are pinned neatly to the cloth tassels hanging down from her hips, clearly visible but hard to steal if anyone had that in mind.

Otherwise, she's not purposely seeking out anyone to win the contest. She won't ignore the opportunity if clearly presented though.]

[ There's a softening of his expression, and... well. Of course he walks right over, after hearing that last bit. Once he's over there, he moves to settle near wherever Akira does. ]

So, you're... with Ohma. [ not bothering to suppress the soft chuckle ] Learning something new does work out, for me. I...

[ Come on, face. Don't betray him like this.

Akechi tries uselessly to will away the hint of redness as he reluctantly admits: ]

... Would still like to learn more about you.
